NEW-GVS RPD™ Record • Play • Download

GVS-Grande Vitesse Systems Inc. is announcing a powerful new software solution for the growing HD market with its GVS RPD™ (HD Recorder, Player and Downloader for GVS9000 VTR Product Family), allowing simple single point record, play and down sample of uncompressed HD content to a large number of file formats for instant distribution for the digital cinema.

GVS-RPD Pro is a full-featured movie recorder, viewer, editor and converter application for Mac OS X. It requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or GVS9000 VTR OS. GVS-RPD Pro allows you to record, play and convert video and audio files of many different formats and perform track extraction and editing operations. By upgrading to GVS-RPD PRO you will be able to convert videos to many different formats, including QuickTime, Windows Media, MPEG-4, H.264, iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, mobile phone (3G), AVI and others.

The GVS-RPD Pro also allows you to perform additional activities such as stitch movies, display scene selection drawer, extract movie video/audio tracks to new files, split movie, join movie, record audio, record video, play dvd, play streaming video, edit videos, play forward and reverse with active audio, get complete information about the movies, reset size and format, instant audio recording 8channel audio preview and many more.

RPD’s video playing controls allow easy opening, playing and navigation of videos. In addition to the video controls the main window provides a transparency controller, which allows the transparency of the player window to be altered. Movies can also be paused and restarted by clicking and double-clicking on the video content as it’s displayed.

This is an important development for users who need immediate down sampling of projects for client review in real-time. With today’s challenges in production moving from traditional file base to full digital, from camera to editorial, GVS RPD provides the essential glue for dailies to be proofed immediately after, or even during the recording process. The ability to instantly down sample content in different formats with a wide selection of specific scenes is a vital production tool, " said Jano Avanessian, GVS Vice President of Sales and Marketing. With GVS RPD Pro in the center of production in conjunction with the GVS9000 VTR brings tools for users to maintain their complete workflow in uncompressed Quick Time format. Apple Final Cut Pro HD users now have the ultimate tools.

The GVS RPD Pro HD supports most industry standard file formats including 1080x1920-interlaced 16x9, 50, 59.94, 60 fps, 1080p 1080x1920 progressive 16x9, 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 and 30 fps 720p 1280x720 16x9, 60, 59.94, 50, 30, 29.97, 25, 24, 23.976 fps.

The new system is available at Macworld 2007. "Visitors to our booth S1538 at MacWorld Conference & Expo will see the live demo of this very cost-effective on-line HD/SD editing system,” said Avanessian.
