-GVS9000 VTR™ (HD Recorder, Player and Down Converter)]

GVS-Grande Vitesse Systems Inc. is announcing a powerful new solution for the growing HD market with its GVS9000 4XU family, a streamlined open-architecture compact SAN storage delivering the data rates that are required for the most intensive uncompressed video applications in today’s market place.

GVS90004XU 2RF Rugged Field Film Recorder- dual SDI offers uncompressed 4:4:4 1080i/p 23.98-60 variable frames per second (fps) to 2K capture, fully redundant cluster storage. It is designed to provide the highest quality HD data view, record, edit, store, and broadcast w/8 channel audio, direct from field to studio in a tape-less production environment.

The GVS9000 4XU with GVSAN built-in provides the ultimate production tool. 2GB Fiber Interface allows users to share all the content in 4Gbit/sec. The internal storage delivers over 3.2Gbit/sec for hours of uncompressed HD video and audio. Users are able to plug and play without spending hours on configuration and insuring application and storage compatibility.

"This is an important development for users who want a high density rugged rack for their HD and SD video applications, but were--up until now--limited to the alternatives offered by the dominant manufacturers," said Jano Avanessian, GVS Vice President of Sales and Marketing. GVS9000 4XU is the first compact HD editing product that users can move any where in the field for complete HD I/O support. Final Cut Pro users have the ultimate dream machine to start editing while recording without any conversion.

The GVS9000 4XU is expandable to 4 hours of HD in a single 4u rack less than 19” deep space. It supports most industry standard file formats including 1080x1920-interlaced 16x9, 50, 59.94, 60 fps, 1080p 1080x1920 progressive 16x9, 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 and 30 fps 720p 1280x720 16x9, 60, 59.94, 50, 30, 29.97, 25, 24, 23.976 fps.

The GVS9000 4XU family can be equipped with optional modules for all video content or scene selection, with fast forward play back, stitch or split any section of movies for dailies, with the option to down convert uncompressed data in real-time to main stream format DV, DV Stream, DVCProHD, AU, AIFF, 3G, MPEG4, H.264, AVI, and iPod format.

The new system is available in the end of Jan 2007. "Visitors to our booth S1538 at MacWorld Conference & Expo will see the combination of speedy data transfer rates (up to 400 MB/sec) and very cost-effective on-line HD/SD editing system,” said Avanessian.
